A Beginners Guide to Vaping for The First Time

We are pleased to bring you A Beginners Guide to Vaping for The First Time. Vaping and e-cigarettes are a relatively new technology. Many people especially old smokers looking to quit and thrill and flavour seekers are slowly coming towards vaping. So far, it’s generally been safer for the public as it totally removes second hand smoking from the equation and vapour released is a lot less harmful to both the lungs and air than the smoke of the past. Clearly, you’re here because you want to try vaping for the first time. If you read through this guide you’ll at least be able to understand the basics of both the action and the community.

What is vaping?

Vaping is the use of electronic cigarettes that produce vapour from water, propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine and other chemicals used in flavourings. Vaping has produced a large number of products and flavours from disposable e-cigarettes designed to look and taste like them (cigalikes) to carrying a gaseous ice cream sundae in you’re pocket. One of the biggest advantages to vaping is how it is in many ways both a healthier alternative to smoking and a cheaper one as well. While vaping does release emissions, it has been found that these emissions are at levels low enough to not even affect bystanders or even the vaper. It is also of note that while it does cost more money to start vaping, over starting to smoke a pack of cigarettes the prices of cigarettes end up higher in a rather short amount of time (about half a year) especially if you are a pack a day smoker.

What do you need to start vaping?

To start vaping you need 6 things a vape mod or pen depending on your tastes, a clearomizer (the place where the liquid is kept that also contains the atomizer which heats the liquid), a drip tip (mouthpiece), a battery, a charger, and e-liquid. There is a lot of variation for the different parts so for the sake of getting into vaping a starter kit is recommended though it is important to decide which type of vaping device you want to use and then buy a kit accordingly. Be sure to look at the contents of your kit as not all kits have all of the components so make sure you check if you need to buy any additional items or would rather buy a different starter kit. If you have any friends who vape try asking them about good places to get supplies and for any recommendations for how they started.

How do you vape?

There are two main hits that are done for vaping which are known as Lung and Mouth to Lung. Lung hits are when you breathe the vapour directly into your lungs by sucking in the vapour by breathing in deeply, which can allow for a more satisfying hit. It typically involves high temperature liquid so you need to draw quickly making Lung hits less recommended for fresh vapers. Mouth to lung involves taking the vapour into your mouth in a long draw and letting the vapour fill your moth then inhaling with extra air to bring the vapour into your lungs. If you are into vaping for the hits lung hits are recommended as they allow for a more intense hit, mouth to lung however is less intense but due to keeping the vapour in your mouth for longer you get more flavour. Mouth to lung is also like how smokers smoke so if you are trying to quit you may want to try mouth to lung. Something to be wary of is dry hits. A dry hit is when you take a hit of no juice and it leaves a burnt taste that can be rather painful for your throat. These are just the main ways to hit however once you have gained experience try asking friends if they know any neat ways to vape.

Vaping is an enjoyable hobby and a good way to quit smoking that will have both your lungs and wallet thanking you. The things to remember are to look at what you are buying and make certain that you want to buy the product, and to decide what method of vaping works best for you while avoiding nasty dry hits. Now go forth and enjoy.
