The Long and The Short Of It

What is Shortfill?

In case you have been living under a vape free rock “shortfill” is the term used to describe buying your e liquid in larger bottles with zero nicotine content while at the same time buying a separate bottle of nicotine and adding it to the shortfill. It’s having a huge impact especially in countries like the UK where new TPD regulations mean you can only buy small bottles of ejuice (10ml)

Why use shortfill?

It allows you to get around the 10ml legal limit on eliquid. Buying shortfill 0% nicotine eliquids you can purchase from 60ml all the way up to 150ml E liquid! thus giving you way more refills per bottle. Obviously buying in bulk works. That’s why you always end up with huge amounts of pasta left in the cupboard. The same is true for e liquid, buying those small bottles 2 or 3 at a time is just not cost effective. So if you want you want to save money shortfill is the way to go.

Take Control of Nicotine

This is also great news for people trying to quit smoking, with shortfill you choose the percentage of nicotine in your ejuice. This means over time you can slowly reduce the strength of your eliquid lowering your dependence. Vice Versa if you love a really strong throat hit, pump up the volume and increase how much nicotine you adding. Just be careful and follow our guide below to make sure you stay within safe limits.

How Does It Work?

The great thing is you don’t need a lab coat, goggles and gloves, just a clean workspace and steady hands. Lets say in one hand and you have a 50ml 0% nicotine eliquid. In the other hand you have a 10ml bottle of 18mg nicotine liquid. Once combined you are left with a 60ml eliquid with 3mg of nicotine. Simples.

Hold Up!

There is common misconception that if you don’t want nicotine you can vape straight shortfill. This however is incorrect. Well, it is not how shortfill has been designed. What you need to remember is that these eliquids are produced to be mixed, so if you don’t add that extra 10ml you’re basically vaping the equivalent of undiluted Ribena. So if you are looking to vape nicotine free you’ll still need to buy a 10ml 0mg shot to add to your shortfill.

Here’s our short shortfill filling guide:
  • 60ml shortfill bottle: 50ml flavoured e-liquid + 1 x 10ml 18mg nicotine shot = 60ml, 3mg
  • 100ml Shortfill bottle: 80ml flavoured e-liquid + 2 x 10ml 15mg nicotine shot = 100ml, 3mg
  • 120ml Shortfill bottle: 100ml flavoured e-liquid + 2 x 10ml 18mg nicotine shot = 120ml, 3mg
  • 180ml Shortfill bottle: 150ml flavoured e-liquid + 3 x 10ml 18mg nicotine shot = 180ml, 3mg
