Once turned on, the battery provides the power and the atomizer quickly heats up to pass convection air current through the marijuana, wax, oil or concentrate and then the vapor is routed through a cooling mechanism to produce soothing vapor. The fundamental difference between desktop vaporizer and portable or handheld vaporizer is not just the size or discreetness. Vape pens or portable models actually deliver the vapor to the nozzle and one simply needs to take a puff or inhale the vapor. In many desktop units, one has to drag the air through the whip or nozzle to actually get the vapor generated and routed through the tube.

The reason why we discussed the different types of vaporizers, although concisely, is to establish the fact that portable marijuana vaporizers are much easier to use. Since you don’t have to make an effort to generate the vapor or to increase the quantum of vapor being generated, you can simply focus on the mild puffs and inhale as little or as much vapor as you want. While portable marijuana vaporizers definitely assure an experience of vaping on the go, the effort does matter and you would not want the experience to be tiring or demanding in any way. This is an important aspect that often gets drowned under the other benefits of portable marijuana vaporizers.

The most obvious benefit of portable marijuana vaporizers is the fact that you can vape anywhere and anytime. Many states have legalized recreational use of marijuana. It was already legal to use medical marijuana. You cannot carry a desktop unit to a public place. There are some portable vaporizers that come with multiple buttons, hence settings and a display. These too will have the same instant start like the single button models.

Portable marijuana vaporizers run on rechargeable batteries and it is obvious they would run out of juice at some point in time. Most portable vape pens these days are compatible with universal chargers, including the charger you would have in your car. You can of course carry the charger for the specific vape pen but you can always use your car charger and keep vaping on the go. Many modern handheld vaporizers come with a feature that is known as passthrough charging. This feature allows you to continue vaping even when you are recharging the battery. Some models stipulate that the passthrough charge will only be applicable when your battery has at least one tenth of full charge but that is not a hiccup for most users.

While you can vape and recharge on the go, switch cartridges effortlessly and there is no need to deal with the bowls loaded with herbs, there is a significant impact on the actual vaping experience with such handheld portable devices. You would be using oils, waxes or concentrates. These are much more potent than dry herb. You can choose waxes or oils or blends with a certain concentrate of active compounds derived from marijuana, you can choose the potency of cannabis and you can choose your favorite flavor. You would have a much better vaping experience, courtesy the volatile aromatic compounds. You would also have a more profound physical and psychological impact as the concentrates are more potent than dry herb or herbal blends.
